MEET VICTORIA

Victoria started Black Bear Ceramics as a way of spending more time dedicated to her two loves – her family and creative activities, specifically those which are best enjoyed with lots of fun and creativity.  Helping others create their own special painted and glazed ceramics seemed the perfect fit!  Before Black Bear, Victoria had worked as a Reception Year teacher.

“"Mom, there’s a bear in the garden..."

Victoria grew up in Alaska – and one morning, sat at the kitchen table, she shouted out “"BLACK BEAR, BLACK BEAR!" Holding her teddy at the time, her Mom thought she was just getting a little excited over her Rice Crispies – until she caught a glimpse of exactly what Victoria had described, looking through the window directly at her daughter!  Her breakfast meeting with a bear is one of her most cherished childhood memories – and it fills her with nostalgia and excitement each time she tells the story.  Whether it be the fun of sharing a pottery painting event with your friends or the specifics of what you paint on your pottery, Victoria loves helping others create special memories too!
